For logged in members, you can also wrap the entry form with weblog entries tags to restrict access to the current members author id.

I have my edit for working as a new post and edit form ok ( might split them into 2 templates though )
With regard to editing posts, this might be easy but could you tell me..

You can set author_only=“yes” in your safecracker.
