Is it possible to display the custom “Field Label” as its set in EE? I’ve looked through the entire documentation and searched the forums without finding an answer. I can’t be the first person to ever request this.

You can get the field label inside the custom_fields loop. Otherwise it’d have to be a feature request.

Would you be able to move this to the feature request forum? I don’t even understand the point of getting Safecracker and then still using the {custom_fields} loop. Thank you!

Like you, I prefer to spell out the fields myself. But there are some people that prefer the custom fields loop, so that’s why it’s there. Even if you choose not to use the custom_fields loop, there are still many other reasons to use, like: guest entries, flexible add/edit, dynamic titles, custom redirects, inline error messaging, custom validation, captcha, easier file uploading, third party fieldtypes, etc.
