Hi Rob, thanks for the new release. I hate to say this but it made no difference at all, I’m still getting a standard EE error message asking for the required fields.

Hi Rob, many thanks… it did make a difference for me (SC 20101026): entry_date and title are no longer required for entries which already exist. Same goes for Matrix fields. But Playa fields give me the same PHP error as before if i don’t include the field in my form:

(this was when trying to update an existing entry)

My Playa version is 3.0.7, that might be something to do with it possibly (the most recent is 3.0.9)

I think I have it fixed in my dev build, I’m going to be uploading and releasing it soon.

Oh, i see that the Playa 3.0.8 release notes mention a fix:

* Fixed PHP errors that would occur when saving an entry that didnâ??t have a Playa field

I’ll update my Playa…

yup that fixed it!

The latest version fixes some problems related to preserving data in edit forms. If you were having any trouble with your data not getting saved properly when not present in the form, please update to today’s build.
