I’ve created a safecracker entry form which includes a safecracker file field.  If the safecracker file field is required, and I attempt to submit the form, I get the following error:

The following errors were encountered

* required

It doesn’t list the name of the safecracker file field and it also ignores the other required fields that I have on the form.  If I put something in the safecracker file field and then hit submit without filling out the rest of the form, it works as excepted and tells me the other fields that are required.

I’ve running Safecracker Build 20100907 and EE 2.1 Build 20100810.

Can you test one more thing for me? What kind of error do you receive from the publish form in the CP? Is it the same?

It looks like it works better from the CP.  It puts the required text after each field, so on the Score field it has the red text after it that says “The Score field is required.”

If I put something in the safecracker file field and then hit submit without filling out anything else, it submits the file, brings up the required text on all the other required fields, and blanks out the information that was in the safecracker file field.  So it’s uploading the file without the entry being submitted, but that might be the expected behavior.

Just put out a new build that fixes this.
