can’t change status to anything but “closed”

I am using sc 2 for EE 2.1.3 and i want guests to submit content.
Everything works great except that I can’t change the stats to anything else but “closed”.
I have got this tag pair:

All entries have the closed status after submit.
I have changed the settings in the cp like crazy and nothing appears to be working.

SafeCracker has been acquired by EllisLabs, makers of ExpressionEngine. Support is now offered on the EE forums, by EE staff. You can read more here

That said… usually that problem has to do with the following:

1. A status group has not been assigned to your weblog. In that case, only SuperAdmins can change the status of an entry.

2. If you’ve set a default status in SafeCracker’s settings… you’re locked into that status, and the member can’t override it.

3. Your member doesn’t have privileges to change the status.
