Paypal Mastercard problems

I have a working store that won’t take MC cards through PayPal Website Payments Pro.  I think its the same problem as this guy had: http://cartthrob.com/forums/viewthread/276/

Visa and other payments are working fine.

I’m on 1.6.8/0.9290 - is there anything I can do to make this work via a software upgrade?  Do you recommend the fix he found in the last few messages of that thread?

I’m pretty sure we fixed this at some point. Try updating your CartThrob to the latest.

The fix we did for Dom S is a fix we put in for all future versions. If an upgrade doesn’t fix you We can try something else.

We’re moving away from the forums, though not entirely and not immediately. Lack of support lately is coincidental to that. Unfortunately we’ve had a bad month with it, but we do not forsee that we will have any continued problems with support through our portal going forward, or on forums while we’re still transitioning. We will send out a newsletter and make additional notifications through twitter and other outlets over the coming weeks.

Moving forward; things returning to normal.

Hi guys - upgraded to 0.9380, and also upgraded EE to latest 1.6.9, all other addons as well and still having this problem.  Paypal Website Payments Pro is the auth.  All transactions are working except for Mastercard.

Hmmm… At this point, the only thing I can think of… is for us to get FTP login access so we can see what’s going on. So… when you try to take MC… what’s the error being reported?

In the checkout form… do you have something like this:

<p>
            <
label for="card_type">Payment Type</label>

            <
select id="card_type" name="card_type">
                <
option selected value="Visa">Visa</option>
                <
option value="MasterCard">Mastercard</option>
                <
option value="Amex">American Express</option>
                <
option value="Discover">Discover</option>
            </
select>
        </
p

is the value for MasterCard the same as the above?

Are you Paypal Pro UK, or US?

Thanks Chris.  I’m over in AMS for EECI so my replies will be slow most likely.  This is paypal US.  The store is live and you can see it as http://www.eco-farm.com/shop/  Feel. free to look around.  I’ll DM you the FTP information and a CP login.

I notice MasterCard isn’t all uppercase like the rest. I wonder if that makes a difference. I just looked at the Paypal docs before I posted, and they show them TitleCaps….. who knows though… their documentation is a bit spotty.

The value submitted should be “MasterCard” if you view source.

Yeah, I know.. I see that. I just wonder why it’s TitleCaps, and the rest are ALLCAPS. The paypal spec says titlecaps. I don’t know if it makes a difference… and I especially don’t know why the “wrong” way would be successful. Anyway, I have your PM. I’ll check it out.

I changed it to UPPERCASE, and it looks like it works. I hate paypal.

I have some PRO clients that need it uppercase, some need it as MC, and others need it TitleCase. I have no idea what the difference is, or why it’s not documented as such in paypals documentation.
