Where possible we will continue to keep them in parity. There are a few features that we’ll be able to eventually have for the EE 2 version that we won’t be able to have for the CT 1x version due to complexity of the conversion process.. but we’ll continue to actively develop for CartThrob for at least a year after the launch of CartThrob 2.0. There are still going to be a lot of sites out there built on EE 1x ... and many of those aren’t gong to be upgraded for some time. And that includes our own sites. We’re heavily invested in EE 1x here at Barrett Newton Inc, and frankly I cringe at the idea of upgrading our pile of MSM sites with all of our custom plugins and extensions we’ve built for ourselves over the years.
Since we use CartThrob ourselves, we’ll continue to support and develop for it for some time.
