Hi there, I have been working with CartThrob for a few days now, and I am
really having trouble getting SagePay Server to work.

Even just using the example templates that came with CT, I am getting the
following error:

Your payment failed: The transaction was not registered because
although the data sent to the payment gateway was formatted correctly, some
information supplied was invalid.

(note that when I try it on
my own template, nothing happens and I am just returned to the homepage)

Items are in the cart, I have entered all the relevant information in the
required fields, and still nothing.

Some guidance would be greatly appreciated, as I have been looking all over
for help.

Regards,

Kris Nielsen

We’re moving away from the forums, though not entirely and not immediately. Lack of support lately is coincidental to that. Unfortunately we’ve had a bad month with it, but we do not forsee that we will have any continued problems with support through our portal going forward, or on forums while we’re still transitioning. We will send out a newsletter and make additional notifications through twitter and other outlets over the coming weeks.

Moving forward; things returning to normal.

In the settings for SagePay Server in CT’s settings:

1. have you entered your merchant information (userids, passwords, etc)

2. are you testing in LIVE, TEST, or SIMULATOR mode?

3. have you registered the site’s IP address with Sage?

4. what’s the name of your site? if it’s very long, this can sometimes cause a problem (which we can provide a simple workaround for)

I have only seen a section to put the vendor name in the settings.
Currently tried both TEST and SIMULATOR mode.
I have registered all the relevant IP’s
The URL is pretty long, so it must be that.. what is the work around? (The base URL is around 46 characters long, including http etc)

Hey there POP. I’ve sent you the alternate version of Sage. It will take care of the length issue.

There’s no downside to using the alternate version, except a smidge more configuration… which is why I haven’t included it in the main distro yet. It’ll probably become the primary sage server gateway one of these days.
