I’m not exactly sure how a ‘proper’ gift certificate system should work but what im looking for is something very simple.

When the user pays for the item id be ok with a simple box in which they put in the recipients address in which a printed document was sent to them.

With very limited experience of CT… i could just make a custom type field on the payment page?

It’s easy to *sell* a gift certificate, but it’s not easy for us to *redeem* a gift certificate. to set this up, we’ll need to track the balance of the gift certificate, and allow partial payments. It’s just not something we’ve had time to do. So you can sell them as is… but CartThrob can’t accept them.

Having never actually purchased a gift certificate myself that’s makes sense. Redeeming isnt important.
