We currently already support the following payment gateways.

CDG Quantum
ANZ Egate

REDIRECT OFFSITE
SagePay Redirect

The following are in Beta
DIRECT
Ogone
Beanstream
Paypal Pro UK

REDIRECT
Ogone
Realex
Google Checkout
Echo-inc
PX Pay
FoxyCart
iDeal

Which additional gateways do you and your clients demand. Vote for your favorites and add any that are not on the list below and I will put them in the poll.

In regards to other gateways… our system for adding gateways is very simple. The only difficulty is reading through gateway documentation and testing them. Usually writing up our gateways takes about 3 hours (including research time). And then with help of testers it takes a few hours to deal any bugs or confusing documentation. The possibility then, of creating other gateways, regardless of the location of their primary use is very high. Also, the possibility of others creating gateways for cartthrob is very high, based on the simplicity of our system and documentation. Right now one of our testers is South African and is in the process of making some local gateways for his area.

If you have any requests, by all means make them. I can’t promise we’ll go after them, but the more we hear from people that a certain gateway is important, the more likely we are to look into it. Ideally we’d like CartThrob to be internationally friendly, and we’ve been doing our best to make it very flexible in that regard. As we are US based, we do not often deal with the wide variety of different needs and systems that exist outside of this country.  More input will help us learn and plan.

We can only vote once! smile

I voted for Barclay’s but I’d equally like to see HSBC.

I think Paypal Standard and an RBS WorldPay gateways would be good additions as users are bound to request them.

We’ve been looking for a way to integrate a fully functional shop solution for EE for quite some time now, but the lacking support for European and specifically Scandinavian payment gateways have made that difficult. Instead we have looked at Magento and other possible solutions. I haven’t had the opportunity to try your Beta (just found out about the product a few days back) but the response on Twitter and from looking at the Docs and the screenshots it seems like this just might be exactly what we have been looking for.

We have had many clients asking for built in support for e-commerce in EE and I know that there are several EE developers in our part of the world that would be very happy to have a gateway that we can use built in from the start, so I’d like to make these suggestions:

* One of the most respected payment gateways for Great Britain and the Scandinavian countries Sweden, Denmark and Norway is DIBS Payment Services. You can look at the API docs at tech.dibs.se.

* Another alternative is PayEx.

* I guess even PayPal Standard would be a great option (since PayPal Pro unfortunately not is an option in Sweden yet).

Feel free to send me an e-mail if you got questions or would like to have help beta testing one of the gateways above. Looking forward to the release!

Our payment system runs on plugins which are very easy to build. Looking at the following: http://tech.dibs.dk/dibs-api/payment-functions/capturecgi/ I ima, gine a payment plugin could be written very easily for this gateway. Much easier than many of the other gateways that already exist for CartThrob.

This won’t be ready for launch, but we can create it. If it’s popular, we’ll create it sooner rather than later. If you don’t want to wait, you can also contact us about a flat rate fee for creating payment gateway plugins.

Sounds great, mate. I’ll be happy to try out CartThrob when it launches.  If we like it and have a project that would suit it right away we’ll certainly consider the last option to get the DIBS and/or PayEx support straight away.

Thanks for taking time to look all this up and good luck with the launch.

Another vote for DIBS here please! Also, I see no-one has mentioned Google Checkout yet. Is that not even a contender?

For supporting the Dutch market. The primairy payment gateway used (70-80% percent of the customers) is iDeal.

iDeal distinguishes two implementation a basic form submit which has no real feedback back to the store (only success and failure URL’s can be set) and a more advanced implementation which does have feedback to the store.

Php classes for implementation can be found here:

Low might have been working on this. If he isn’t, we’ll get to it eventually. Looking at the code, it looks pretty straightforward to incorporate the professional-example into our plugin system.

Once I quite being so dang busy with the Paypal standard thing, I’ll start working on some of these. Looks like Ogone is next on the list according to the poll.

Here in the Netherlands many people prefer to use standard bank cards with direct-debit access (there’s a low tolerance of credit debt).

The premiere gateway is ING’s iDEAL, with BeBit coming a distant second. Every bank and nearly every vendor in the country accepts iDEAL transaction processes. It’s virtually impossible to build a store here without it (seems to be more amenable to many vendors than Maestro/Visa/Amex or even Paypal). Store systems like Magneto have good integration to iDEAL, so they tend to be the first systems clients ask for.

So endeth the sales pitch. I’d buy this in a heartbeat if it could do iDEAL Advanced transactions. There’s an Easy and Advanced method for iDEAL purchases; having access to both paths would be…um, ideal.

As I’ve just spent the better part of a week integrating an EE site with Freeform and iDEAL payment, I’m happy to pass along information:

• iDEAL General - Introduction and Manual (PDF)
• iDEAL Advanced Integration (PDF)
• Also a very good resource online at the homepage of Krishna Sunuwar

Any chance we could see this in Carthrob? I’d love to recommend an alternative to Magneto for smaller sites..

iDeal has been requested, and vocally! Low was looking into building a gateway for it. Now that I have the off-site payment gateway system complete I should be able to support it if he doesn’t get to it first. I’ve downloaded your PDFs and put them in my API reference folder. I may look at it some more before the end of this week.

Really? And I even did a search first before posting…  wink

Both methods, Basic and Advanced, would be welcome (and any possible extensibility you can offer). I have a client now who could use it on his site in place of how we’re doing it. I look forward to hearing more as soon as practicable.

I think we discussed it over email, not in the forums.

I would love to see MoneyBookers supported. It’s UK-based payment gateway, but used worldwide.

SWREG support would also be useful to some people
