Is there an easy way to set CT up to allow customers to purchase and send gift certificates/vouchers?

No. It’s something we’d like to work on. But it’s not available yet.

We’re moving away from the forums, though not entirely and not immediately. Lack of support lately is coincidental to that. Unfortunately we’ve had a bad month with it, but we do not forsee that we will have any continued problems with support through our portal going forward, or on forums while we’re still transitioning. We will send out a newsletter and make additional notifications through twitter and other outlets over the coming weeks.
Moving forward; things returning to normal.

It’s something we’re actively developing. One of our customers paid us a commission to work on this for them. We may be able to begin adding additional testers in the next month or so. It’s a good system. Allows us to take partial payments on gift certificates and pay the rest on credit card or other method like you’d expect. We also have a similar “credits” system that’s been in testing for awhile.

Hi Chris, are you at the stage where you want additional testers for this yet?

Are you any closer to needing testers for this Chris? We have a project where partial payments with credits is a big feature so would love to give it a test drive!

Not at present. We had expected to work on this as a commission awhile back, but that project is on hold for now.

Thanks Chris. Just to confirm, the only way to checkout with credits (using DevDemon) is if the customer has enough credits to cover the full cost of the cart?

That’s correct.
We do have our own credits add-on that does not have this limitation however. Like Gift Certificates, it’s also in beta.

Hello, any updates on this?
I’m starting to build a cart in Carthrob and they want to have gift certificates.
Is there any way we can help pay for the development?

Yes. Gift certificates is done, and thoroughly tested. I’d like to see more public testing, but I’m happy with where it is.

If you have a budget, let me know. Right now I can’t do a lot of support for it without billing for the support, so a budget for our time there would be good. The add-on itself is in great shape, and the documentation is finished as well.

That is great news!! For what I see this was something that was missing to make it the perfect solution for what I needed.
I have a small budget but If you can give me a figure I can see if I can include it.

I can provide the add-on at no cost. But I will have to bill hourly for any support. Check your inbox for the files.

Hi Chris -
I’d be very interested in Gift Certificates as well and would be happy to be billed for any support.
Thanks!
