Hi there,

I’ve come across another issue here when checking out with Paypal.

I have a basket page where you can review the order, estimate shipping and then proceed to check out. The shipping cost updates, though Im still having the issue with weight / quantity.

Once I check out to Paypal, the default option for shipping cost is applied. However, if I complete the order, the correct shipping cost is recorded in the Orders weblog.

Any idea why this would happen?

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the feedback. I should be able to fix up the quantity vs weight issue for you shortly. I’ll look into what’s going on with Paypal and the default shipping option being applied. I’d suspect there’s a variable I’m not passing across.

Let me know if you find anything else.

Hi Kevin,

I’ve adjusted the plugin to factor in quantity with the other costs which seems to have addressed your first issue. I’m still looking into the Paypal problem but rest assured we are also using Paypal in our CartThrob build, so I’ll get this going for you shortly.

Cool, thanks a million. Is the download on your site updated?

Indeed it is. V1.1 of Flat Rates Plus reflects the change discussed above.

Great plugin Bliss Web Agency.

This almost achieves what our client requires, but not quite.
Most e-commerce sites that ship worldwide work on weight, so a per country by weight is perfect.
What we’ve also discovered though is the more you ship the cheaper it costs.

Eg, €10 per kg to Europe up to 50kg, then it goes down to €8 per kg for the next 50kg, then after 100kg the cost goes down again.

Is this possible with your plugin (I don’t think so)?
If not, any pointers and I’ll attempt to modify it, unless one of the Carttrob guys can do it?
I’d say this is a common scenario for shipping, so would be helpful to many cartthrob users.

Cheers,
Elliot

What you’d like is a Location specific, shipping by weight: threshold plugin.

The blis plugin doesn’t currently do that. We don’t have any that do either.

Wouldn’t be too tough to create though.

I am trying to get the blis plugin to work. No Success. What is the tag (pair) that I would use in my template to show the options in my checkout. How do I make the customer_info shipping country play nicely with this?

I believe you need either the country_code or state, so….

{exp:cartthrob:save_customer_info_form}

<input type=“text” name=“country_code” />
<input type=“text” name=“state” />

<input type=“submit” value=“submit” />
{/exp:cartthrob:save_customer_info_form}

Most of our “form"s will also save customer info. For this plugin, your country_code or state value has to match the rate you identify in the backend.
