Hi There,

We would like to have a wishlist functionality for CartThrob. We currently use Solspace Favorites, which does most of the features we want, but not all.

Currently possible with Solspace Favorites
Of course: Wishlist functionality is a feature only available for logged in users.

- Allow users to add a product to their wishlist.
- Allow users to manage their wishlisted products. Have a list where all the items are present and allow users to delete a product from the list.

Currently not possible but would make it a real wishlist module:
- Allow users to make a note for each product.
- Allow users to move products from the wishlist to the cart (the product gets removed from the wishlist and added to the cart). (The user checks a checkbox for a product and presses update wishlist.)
- Allow users to move items in the cart to the wishlist. (The user checks a checkbox and hits update cart)

Especially the last two points are not easy to implement with Solspace Favorites.

Is there anything like this functionality on the roadmap for CartThrob?

We have a wishlist of CT1 that does all of this. We’d like to port it to CT2. You can actually see a live implementation of it here: http://kitchenercookware.com (its’ used for wedding registry / lists)

- Allow users to add a product to their wishlist.

Yes

- Allow users to manage their wishlisted products. Have a list where all the items are present and allow users to delete a product from the list.

Yes

- Allow users to make a note for each product.

Yes. done.

- Allow users to move products from the wishlist to the cart (the product gets removed from the wishlist and added to the cart). (The user checks a checkbox for a product and presses update wishlist.)

In our implementation, the list tracks wants vs. purchases. When an item has been purchased those stats are updated. So it’s not removed from the list, but it’s status is updated. Which I think is even better.

- Allow users to move items in the cart to the wishlist. (The user checks a checkbox and hits update cart)

Yes. That’s part of it.

We have a wishlist function for CT1 that has all of this and more. It even allows a customer to store a specific configuration of an item. Allows them to have multiple lists. And what’s better: the lists are channel entries… so you can really go crazy.

We will eventually port this to CartThrob 2.

We’re moving away from the forums, though not entirely and not immediately. Lack of support lately is coincidental to that. Unfortunately we’ve had a bad month with it, but we do not forsee that we will have any continued problems with support through our portal going forward, or on forums while we’re still transitioning. We will send out a newsletter and make additional notifications through twitter and other outlets over the coming weeks.

Moving forward; things returning to normal.

Thanks for the information!

Hmm. It seems i won’t be needing this functionality any time soon, I didn’t understand the customer correctly.

Many thanks anyway.
